Oxford BioSignals Appoints Chairman

November 2003 - Richard Moon, former Chief Executive of Thales Plc, is to become non-executive chairman of Oxford BioSignals (OBS), the Oxford University spin-out company which has just announced a strategic partnership with Rolls-Royce. His appointment is seen as an important step in strengthening the board of OBS, already a leader in the intelligent signal processing field.

Richard Moon says “I am delighted to be joining Oxford BioSignals and looking forward to helping the Company achieve its future strategic ambitions”

Oxford BioSignals (OBS), which was formed in May 2000, has recently expanded the scope of its business activities with a strategic equity investment by the International aerospace company. This investment includes a commitment to significant future business for OBS in providing products for engine condition monitoring across all Rolls-Royce market sectors.

The unique technology underlying the company’s comprehensive diagnostic and monitoring solutions is derived from the work of Professor Lionel Tarassenko’s group in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. OBS will continue to develop innovative diagnostic monitoring solutions to the healthcare market and will now target other engineering markets where its core technology will provide significant advances in condition monitoring.

With an extensive track-record in the defence and aerospace sectors, Richard Moon is joining the company at a critical stage in its expansion.
