Oxford BioSignals Appoints
Chairman
November 2003 - Richard Moon, former Chief
Executive of Thales Plc, is to become non-executive
chairman of Oxford BioSignals (OBS), the Oxford University
spin-out company which has just announced a strategic
partnership with Rolls-Royce. His appointment is
seen as an important step in strengthening the board
of OBS, already a leader in the intelligent signal
processing field.

Oxford BioSignals (OBS), which was formed in May
2000, has recently expanded the scope of its business
activities with a strategic equity investment by
the International aerospace company. This investment
includes a commitment to significant future business
for OBS in providing products for engine condition
monitoring across all Rolls-Royce market sectors.
The unique technology underlying the company’s
comprehensive diagnostic and monitoring solutions
is derived from the work of Professor Lionel Tarassenko’s
group in the Department of Engineering Science at
the University of Oxford. OBS will continue to develop
innovative diagnostic monitoring solutions to the
healthcare market and will now target other engineering
markets where its core technology will provide significant
advances in condition monitoring.
With an extensive track-record in the defence and
aerospace sectors, Richard Moon is joining the company
at a critical stage in its expansion. |
